WHAT DO I DO?

What is the Broker/Owner’s responsibility for domain name registration and logo use by Agents?

The franchise agreement you signed is between you and Realty World, Inc. However, as part of that agreement, you as the broker/owner are responsible for your agent’s correct use of the Realty World logos and domain names.

DOMAIN NAMES
The Corporate Policy applies to all broker/owners and their agents.

•   You must obtain written corporate approval for all domain names that use the words “Realty World” unless the domain name includes your previously approved dba.

•   Agents that want to register their own domain names that contain the Realty World mark must have corporate approval, which is obtained through their broker/owner. The Consent for Approval form must be signed and submitted by their broker/owner.

•   The broker/owner is contractually responsible for complete de-identification upon the termination of an agent, which means the broker/owner must have the agent’s registered domain name cancelled or assigned back to the broker/owner.

LOGOS
Broker/Owners are also contractually responsible for their agent’s correct use of the Realty World logos.

• You must review agent’s websites, stationary, business cards, and so forth to ensure compliance.

• Any misuse, distortion, or inappropriate use of the logos must be immediately corrected.

• You need to show your agents how to access the logos on the CD and on the Insider and train them to use the logos properly.

How can I keep track of everything my agents do?

Your responsibility is to pass on the training that you have received. You need to train, remind, and supervise agents in the use of the protected corporate name and logos. And you need to monitor and approve agent websites, business cards, marketing material, and so forth.

What if I have questions?
