We have had a lot of feedback from the Compliance Policy Bulletin on Domain Names so the question for this month is . . . How do I choose a domain name? Usually your domain name will be “realtyworldyourDBA.com.” Once your DBA is approved, you can go ahead and register that as your domain name without any further approval required. However, if you want to use any other words with the Realty World name, you must get corporate approval. The procedure to get corporate approval for a domain name is the same as the procedure to get corporate approval for a DBA. 1. Go to the Insider and click on Compliance FAQ. 2. Print the “Consent to Use Realty World® Marks with D.B.A./Domain Name” form. 3. Complete the form, sign and date it, and fax it to the corporate office, 714-436-9010, Attention: Elissa |
We will notify you of the approval status of your request. Please remember: • The name cannot include a geographical area. For example, Realty World Chicago would not be allowed. • Once the name is approved by corporate, we will send you a copy of the executed Consent form. • After you have corporate approval, you can go ahead and register the domain name with the registrar of your choice. What if a domain name I already have is not in compliance with the current policy? Not a problem. Our policy is not retroactive. It applies to new names going forward. How many domain names can I register? You can register as many domain names as you want. |
